I was delighted to see you speak a few months ago at the Autism Health Summit, and you made a statement that immediately caught my attention. You said, "If you want to understand autism, it starts with bifidobacteria, so that's a pretty bold statement. Can you talk a little bit about what you mean by that?

I'm going to take us back a little bit to how this all started, and all this started during COVID, because I started being interested in the people that had COVID, severe COVID, and the people that were exposed to patients with severe COVID, but never got COVID, right? And so through this path, I discovered that the people that were exposed to COVID had, but never got COVID, had a lot of bifidobacteria. And why did I focus on bifidobacteria? Because if you'll recall from the pandemic, at the beginning of the pandemic, everybody was saying, "Well, the kids are not really affected, but the old people are affected.

We had a microbiome test that we had. We were validating that we had done already 1000 plus samples, and so we had a lot of newborns in that pipeline that we could look at. And when we looked at the newborns that were healthy, we said, "Wow, these newborns have a lot of bifidobacteria, and when we looked at the old people that were dying, you know, they had zero bifidobacteria. You know, cancer patients, patients that were on chemo drugs, or aging process. So we started saying, "I wonder if bifidobacteria is the microbe that's disappearing in severe COVID patients, and is there in high risk exposed, but never got COVID. And sure enough, I started going on a hunt of let me find the patients that are exposed to COVID never got COVID. Right, some of your politicians actually never got COVID, never got vaccinated, never you know were perfectly fine and had a lot of bifidobacteria, so bifidobacteria started becoming kind of important at that junction during COVID. The other thing that happened is I started looking at well, who is lacking bifidobacteria, and to my surprise, because I was working with kids with autism and I was doing a family portrait. You know, everybody that knows me in the microbiome space and in autism, I've been speaking about family portraits. You know, like this is what my family looks like on the microbiome, similar to one daughter and how my husband is similar to another daughter. You know, so the family microbiome is so similar that I started looking at kids with autism. When we started looking with kids with autism, and we compared them to the healthy newborns, so a kid with autism, or on the spectrum, and a kid with that's a two-year-old that's healthy, a two-year-old healthy had a lot of bifidobacteria. Comparatively to a kid with autism, so that was the beginning, right? You start seeing these families, you start seeing similarities between the siblings, but then differences between the siblings, and then you take those differences of the siblings and you correlate it to differences between the healthy non-sibling kid that's neurotypical, right? And the first microbe that popped out, what popped up was bifidobacteria. So when we did that study in autism, where we looked at siblings, the neurotypical sibling has more bifidobacteria than the kid with autism, and then when we took the kid with autism compared to the sibling, compared to the healthy individual, that healthy individual that was outside that family environment had more bifidobacteria than the kid that's neurotypical, and then the kid that's autistic. So autism became, you know, for me, anyways, about bifidobacteria. The next thing that I started doing is how do I increase the bifidobacteria? How do I, and again, those were discoveries during the pandemic, you know, because I was trying to survive myself as a physician on the front line, as a scientist on the front line, so I discovered a few things. Right, I discovered vitamin C improved the bifidobacteria. Not every vitamin C, because unfortunately we had to create a product that was made in America that we tested. So we called it the Biohm Boosters, and basically we tested those products and gave everybody the same vitamin C, and noticed that it increased the bifidobacteria. Then we noticed bovine immunoglobulins, the blood from the cow that spun around. Again, a product on the Bion Boosters, which, by the way, all these products support the foundation, which helps us advance research on autism, so it's not like Sabine Hazen is selling a product. Sabine Hazen is selling a product to raise money for research, because unfortunately, it's very difficult to raise money for research, especially when you're not an academic center. It's very difficult to get these grants, and we've applied, but we're not an academic center. We're an independent, you know, free, unbiased lab as much as we can be because we want to see success. My mission is to fix not just these, you know, to fix every kid with autism. So, and some will work with my protocol, and some will not. So, during this path of discovery, finding out vitamin C increases bifidobacteria. Bovine increases bifidobacteria. Ivermectin increases bifidobacteria, and that's what possibly it was working during the pandemic with my patients that were hypoxic. But the problem is it didn't sustain. Same with vitamin C, by the way, doesn't sustain.

In other words, you increase the bifidobacteria, the next day you drop, so you never get a chance to engraft. Bovine is a little bit different because it increases the bifidobacteria, decreases the proteobacteria, so gets rid of the bad stuff by binding to the E. coli to your you know to your bad microbes and getting rid of them. So now you have space for good microbes to rise, right, to take on the microbiome, because really, what the microbiome is, our colon is just, and our bodies are just reservoirs for these microbes, and these microbes are in exact balance, right? So we can't really say, well, there's good and bad. It's about the good and the bad together creating a balance, right? We don't talk enough about balances. So basically, when you start looking at you know bifidobacteria and you start manipulating the microbiome, understanding certain things that will increase the bifidobacteria, avoiding certain things that will kill the bifidobacteria, you start increasing the bifidobacteria. You see the assay increasing the bifidobacteria, and the kid is improving. And that's what we showed when we did two twins with autism, where we basically restored the speech when we restored the bifidobacteria. So of course, it became to me about bifidobacteria because I saw the loss of bifidobacteria. I saw that when you replenish the bifidobacteria, the kid is speaking. That was really my path. That's why when I was at documenting hope, I said it's all about the bif. You have to focus on the bifidobacteria, but here's the thing: you have to focus on the bifidobacteria with a valid, verified, and reproducible clinical assay. Too often, these parents are coming in, and I'm not here to pitch anything. I'm not here to pitch my lab or busy beyond. I'm not here to pitch, you know, biome. Do what you feel is the right thing for your kid, and do what you need to do. But if you're not achieving success, it's because you have to look back at maybe the product you're doing is killing the bif because it's not properly tested or properly made, or maybe the lab test that you're using, the stool assay is not validated or reproducible, and what do I mean by that? You should get a stool sample, reproduce it twice, and if you get the same exact results, then your test is good. If it's not, and you're not getting the same results, your test is flawed. And here's the other thing: there is a certain level at which you test, and it's basically you're testing your microbiome. And there's a certain level where you're really testing what you ate last night. So it's knowing that proper level of where do you cut, you know, where do you say this is my acuri bifidobacteria. I'll give you an example. Bifidobacteria is like the hemoglobin. In 1800s, they create they people were bleeding, and they didn't know how to restore the blood. Right? How do you restore blood from a person that's bleeding? How do we even know how much bleeding is okay and how much bleeding is not okay that you need a blood transfusion, right? So sometime in 1810, 1814, a person came out and said, you know, let's create this marker which is like giving us a signal, hemoglobin, and he came out with the hemoglobin, and then the hemoglobin became the standard of care to look at blood loss. Now imagine if a guy next door starts coming out with a hemoglobin, but his hemoglobin is 12, and your actual hemoglobin is six. The patient needs a blood transfusion because your hemoglobin says he's six. Now I'm telling you with another lab, it's 12. Well, according to that other lab, it's not validated. It's and if I retest twice with that other lab, I'll get a different result. Therefore, it's not reproducible. So it's very important. You know, progenitobiome is a cap and clia lab. We're a research lab on the microbiome. We cannot come out with a consumer product at this point that until we have validation, reproducibility data from other academic centers that reproduce that validate us, right? And so essentially, we have the clinical data, we have the normals, or where it should be. We need to bring it to the next level, which is testing with academic centers.

Which means we need to bring money to academic centers to say, "Hey, use my test, so we can make sure. And from now on, let's test every newborn in America to see what is the level of bifidobacteria that that newborn is born with? Because here's the problem: you're testing with a non-validated assay, and you're getting that confidence that your kid is okay. But you gave your kid a probiotic drink or a food supplement that has a probiotic. Is that really okay? Is your kid really okay at that point? Can you really say your kid is not going to go into a problem down the road? And that is, you know, it's much like I'm testing hemoglobin on a child, and I'm saying your child has a normal hemoglobin, but then the child is actually bleeding, and you don't know about it because you had the wrong test, so I think it's important to have a valid, verified, reproducible assay. And I think if parents are undergoing this route of healing, they really need to do the research properly.

I love the arc that you went through. It all that's really phenomenal backdrop to really come to the bottom line, which is testing and having a read on what's going on is really important. There's an incredible number of options out there, and some tests are more meaningful than others, right? So, how something is measured is important, but without any kind of measurement, yeah, you're shooting in the dark. So, so I hear what you're saying about having a test that reliably measures with a high degree of accuracy what that level of bifidobacteria is now in terms of why that particularly is is where you're focusing right I know newborns when they first come out they have very very high levels and my guess is that we all eventually start losing levels down to some, you know, some lesser amount. But I think what you're saying is that for people who might have a more compromised immune system, who may be more vulnerable, more more susceptible, you're seeing often that their levels of bifidobacteria are either. Extremely low or zero is that correct?

Dr. Sabine Hazan 15:03

Yes, yes, and that and that's the key. You just nailed it right there. What is immunocompromised? Right to me, immunocompromised is you're losing microbes. So immunocompromised patient has lost a lot of microbes, therefore cannot survive the environment, cannot survive eating a hamburger with E. coli, cannot survive, you know, eating a lettuce with cyclospora, cannot survive catching COVID because he went to a bathroom and breathed it in, right? So that's immunocompromised. You know, a person can be exposed to COVID, and and go to multiple bathrooms, or people with COVID, you know, were there and not catch COVID because of the fact that they have microbes that take that COVID and flush it out of their system. You know, my body has been programmed now that when I go on an airplane and I'm exposed to a bathroom of someone with COVID. Bam! That night, I'm my body's evacuating. You know, so that's what I know. Hey, and it's a one-time deal. And I know, wow, my body is doing what it's supposed to do. It recognized a foreign virus that my body doesn't have, and it just flushed it out with my good bacteria that took it out of my gut, right? And that's what our immunity is supposed to do, right? But in order to do that, we need to have some bifidobacteria, and that's the whole concept of probiotics is exactly that-it's bifidobacteria, right? So I think as we step into who is immunocompromised? Who is not? When we, I hope that the future, you know, is about testing these kids to see what level they are at, and what proper level should be a proper level, and that's what I want to bring to the to the market, bring to the platform to say, okay, this is the right level that your kid should be at. You can feel comfortable that your kid is going to grow perfectly fine. And obviously, I'm talking out of my head, looking at my research because I'm biased by what I've seen in my research of early findings. That none of this is published. None of this is, you know, super, you know, overlooked by academia, etc. But I can tell you, there's a lot of academic centers that are looking at my work. You know, like University of Chicago is doing a study looking at bifidobacteria in cancer patients based on my recent paper that showed that patients with invasive cancer have zero bifidobacteria or low bifidobacteria. So I think it's just a matter of time till doctors and academic centers step on the bandwagon, right? Kind of like what we did with fecal transplant. You know, in 1957, Dr. Einstein came up with, "Hey, I fixed Clostridium difficile, bacteria that people get from taking antibiotics. I fixed it with two fleet enemas in those patients. Then the next guy, Doctor Tom Barodi, said, "Hey, fecal transplant, really? Well, fecal transplant was since the fifth century China, where they used to give it for cholera, right? And then again, so there were there were moments in history where fecal transplant was always kind of the go-to, you know. But we didn't have the technology that we have now to look at these microbes. So people were just shooting in the dark and using, you know, Uncle Joe's microbiome or the wife's microbiome or the husband's microbiome to fix this. But they didn't really like say, okay, what are we fixing? What microbes are compatible with what person? What is a normal microbiome? What is an abnormal microbiome? Right. So we didn't have that technology. Now we have that technology that we can be a little bit more precise. And I can be today here to tell you, yes, bifidobacteria matters. Yes, save the bif because I'm seeing a decrease in bifidobacteria. You know, I was talking about cyclospora, and I said, "Wow, you know, think about the PR that happened with cyclospora. You know, in California alone, they were like, "Oh my God, cyclospora. I'm like, "We have 40 cases of cyclospora in California right now. We have one in 12 boys with autism. Where should we be focused, right? Should we be focused on cyclospora, really, or should we be focused on autism? So, you know, we need to focus on autism because one in 12 boys in California with autism is not a small thing, and and that happened since 1980.

In 1980, one in 2000 kids was autistic. Now we're one in 30. What is it going to be in 20 years from now? One in one. What is going to happen in 40 years? Is humanity going extinct because we've killed off bifidobacteria? So yes, my mission. As I woke up, the pandemic was a huge awakening for me. It was an awakening of the importance of the microbiome, because it allowed me to survive COVID. It was an awakening of the corruption to censor me to shut me down. It was an awakening of all the things we do to destroy bifidobacteria, and it was an awakening on the disappearance of humanity, and that's the biggest awakening. I mean, like, you know, people have criticized me, and people have said, "Oh my God, she's so, you know, controversial. I don't want to be in the same stage as her because she's controversial. But guess what? At the end of the day, I'm still speaking because of the fact that, to me, this is the biggest crisis. This is bigger than cyclospora. This is bigger than COVID. We are losing microbes, and we are. When we lose microbes, we allow bad microbes to come in. And in a world where scientists are playing with designer bugs, where they can take a virus and a bacteria and a toxic bacteria and combine it together to create a potent virus, like what they did with COVID, then we have a problem, right? We have a problem,

no doubt. And I think as you're describing, though, again, all roads pointing to bifidobacteria. Let me just rewind a little bit in terms of I'm going to just give an understanding because I've been at this for almost two decades now of going to conferences, learning, knowing the importance of the guy. Even you know, almost 20 years ago, Sid Baker was talking about the the the promise of fecal transplant, right? It never became widely available, but this is to your point. It's been around for a while.

You know, fecal transplant is only approved for C diff. But I will tell you that you know, for all those parents out there listening to fecal transplant, there's a lack of good donors out there. So please don't go do the neighbors or the kid or your sibling. I'm looking for familial FMT donors, it's very hard to find within a family a sibling that is neurotypical and has a good microbiome that can help the kid with autism. Because people listen fecal transplant. Oh my God, I gotta find a fecal transplant. You know, the attention of most people is very limited, so I just want to intercept that so that I'm like, please don't do this. Please don't do it at home. You're gonna worsen your kid even worse, and then you're gonna come to me, and I'm not gonna be able to help.

I appreciate you clarifying that because I know many parents think about, hey, this is a this is a possibility. They might look within the family for a donor where maybe yeah, that makes no sense. You may have to go outside, but I guess the reason I was teeing it up is that, in a real base level, parents who start pursuing answers for their child, whatever the condition, they soon realize the gut's very important. They hear about concepts like dysbiosis, right? That imbalance between good bacteria, bad bacteria, yeast, and especially 20 years ago, it was all about probiotics. Probiotics. Make sure you're adding a probiotic. The thinking on that's evolved, right? Some probiotic some probiotics don't survive, and they don't really do anything. You know, Dr. Zach Bush, who I've had on the podcast a few times, he talks about how that those can create monocultures that actually cause more harm than good. So you you have probiotics that have been around for a while. People know that that might be part of the equation, and then we talked about transplants. And but where you are now is knowing all that history and having the deep experience you have, you're seizing on this particular bifidobacteria as being singularly not not the smoking gun, not the root cause of anything, but extremely important. So, so I think that's where your research has really pointed to. It's not about this is the key, and now take this pill, and you'll have more of it, and you'll be good. It's still about yes, doing things that increase it, but also even more importantly, stop doing things that are wiping it out, correct?

Dr. Sabine Hazan 24:01

Yeah, because it's exactly you have a fire in your gut, and you're pouring gasoline on one hand and water on the other hand, right? So, and I gave the example of the two twins, right? That I treated and I improved their bifidobacteria, and they correlated with their clinical outcome of speaking, right? I'm going to give you another example of two other twins who basically are not speaking, and I can't seem to get the bifidobacteria up, and they're not improving. Which, by the way, validates my hypothesis still because my hypothesis is you restore the bif, the kids speak. Right, you can't restore the bif. The kid is not speaking. Right, is not better. So therefore, what are we doing in those two twins? And that's where the research becomes complicated or complex because what am I doing in those two twins, or what is the family doing in those two twins that was. Different than the first two twins, right? And so that's the importance of doing of doing you know research with good methods, good clinical practice, right? Where you basically have the art of observation, where you could say, wait a minute, this parent is giving this supplement and this supplement. Those supplements may be killing, and again, this is where the fire, you know, in your gut, and pouring gasoline with those supplements, and me giving them water to turn off the fire. So I think it's very important when you're treating the gut, and this is very-it's a complex field, right? Autism is not; it's the most complex problem in medicine. Okay, think about diabetes. Simple, give insulin, lose weight, other medications. Great, the patient improves, the sugar level is better, and they can survive, right? Autism, you're trying to improve a microbe that disappeared a long time ago that the kids have never been exposed to, most likely, right? And you're trying to increase it, and at the same time, you're giving other things that are killing it, right? And what are those other things, right? Like it could be as simple as the environment, the stress environment in the family, it could be as as simple as exposure to animals that have all sorts of microbes that just come in. I had two twins that we worked on very shortly. That we just did a couple of you know manipulations of the gut, and we couldn't increase them. And lo and behold, it's because they were living in a farm, exposed to so many animals, so many parasites, so many. So as you're trying to grow the bif, that bif is being utilized to get rid of the parasites, to get rid of the viruses that they were exposed constantly to all the animals that were around them, and yes, diversity of animals is good, but unfortunately, not when you have zero good bacteria, and so this is where you have to change the environment and say, what am I doing in the environment? Where is my kid in a safe environment for them to grow the microbes? Imagine the the the environment where mom and dad are constantly fighting. That's creating a lot of turmoil in that kid, right? And therefore, that kid starts internalizing and killing their bib. They can't. Even if I try to grow that, they're not increasing. So there's so many variables, and you know, here's another variable. What about a kid you take on, you know, you take from one area to another, and they're constantly moving, right? Is that stable? Is that keeping you stable? You know, etc. So, is that kid allowed to grow their microbiome properly? So, think about your garden. I always correlate the microbiome in your gut to a garden, right? You're trying. You you wiped out all your tomato plants. They no longer have roots or seeds in the soil. You want to grow tomatoes. What do you do? You plant new. You turn. You remove the weeds. You plant new seeds, and you let the ground settle. First of all, you let the ground settle to prepare the garden, right? You put some compost and and and and nutrients in the soil. You turn the soil. You remove the see the weeds, and then you plant and you let it sit. You put sun. You put water. Now, if there's a hurricane that comes around, well, goodbye garden, right?

If there's a tornado that comes around, goodbye garden, right? So there's an earthquake, goodbye garden. So you need peace and quiet and calm to grow that garden. And I think too often in families, you know, you got to think the mom has been dealing with this kid; she's on high stress alert. The dad has been dealing with the kid, they're at each other's throats because they're taking turns, they're fighting. That goes on the kid. So even though you're trying to fix the kid, the environment is not conducive for fixing that kid. And so there's so many variable. And then you've got the parent that really is focused on well, these supplements have helped my kid, and I really want to improve to continue these supplements. But then these supplements have something in them that kill the bifidobacteria, and that's why we're not reaching that level of getting better. We're always at that. Yes, your kid has improved; he's at this level, but we'll never. Move from that level to this level, and so I think for me that's really it's all about research. You know, I tell all these parents that join my path. You know, we give them hands on. Everybody has my cell phone. They they keep on top of me, and I I'm mostly the one keeping on top of them because they don't call me necessarily. They don't want to bother me, so I'm like, "Hey, how's your kid? I haven't heard from you in like a month, right? So or two, and so oh, she's great, and this and that. So, you know, we have to do. You know, we've organized the research to have a coordinator. You know, we've organized the research to have somebody on top of calculating cars and ATEX scores, we have someone in the lab that's constantly on top of getting them their stools, you know. And so it's a very methodical research that's not sponsored, unfortunately, and that's not at the level of FDA yet because I'm still trying to figure it out, it's really the art of medicine. It's the art of innovation, right? And so, we need to continue these innovations. We need to continue seeing why is this happening. And to me, the parent that I that I take on, the parents that I take on to treat these kids, it has to be that relationship that they understand. Look, this is research. There's no cure for autism right now. That's in the guidelines. We don't know where autism's coming from. Eventually, we'll be able to say A, B, C, D, and I'll have the confidence to put all that. But you could see, you know, with the stuff that I'm saying on all these podcasts, where I'm heading into, right? There's always like I always put a pearl out there. It's not written because it takes a whole team to write these papers, and now it takes a whole team to stop these papers from being retracted, which is slowing us down to the max. Part of the reason I'm doing a podcast today on my Friday off is because the word needs to be out there. You have more reach of parents than a journal that is writing a paper about loss of bifidobacteria and autism that nobody will read in academia because it didn't come from an academic center, so who's gonna read it? The Renegades, right? The Dr. Peter McCalla, the you know the people that are on social media that have been you know the rebels on the pandemic. Those are the ones that are kind of pushing all that. But you, right? You read my stuff. The people from Documenting Hope, the scientists that are out there innovating that are frustrated and annoyed because their innovations are not being heard because they have roadblocks after roadblocks after roadblocks. You know we're looking at 40 years from now one in one kid with autism. We cannot have roadblocks anymore. Enough. Let's bring it out together. Let's work together. The beauty of autism, in a way, is that it affects every race and religion. So this is not a political problem. Democrats and Republicans are my patients. You know, Christian, Jews, and Muslims are my patients. African Americans, white, Spanish, Japanese are my patients. You know, it's affecting the whole world. Why? Because we've globalized the world. Yeah, it's killing the soil. It's killing the microbes. You know, it's got a poison picture on the bottle. I mean, what more do you need? You know, and you're feeding your blueberry, your kid blueberries from something you've sprayed with a poison on a bottle. I mean, come on. Have we lost our minds? And you know, I remember this physician during the pandemic was like, "Well, let's not throw the baby out of the bath. And and glyphosate have helped, you know, the guard, the farms. I'm like, yeah, and they've also destroyed the microbiome of humanity. I mean, let's be honest here. You know, it's like at what cost? Okay, you're increasing production because you've killed off the microbes, but then at the same time, those foods are damaging the microbiome, which then causes diseases, which now is you know creating mental health problem. You know, it's important for people to know that our lab discovered loss of bifidobacteria in Alzheimer's, long COVID, vaccine injured, autism, Lyme disease, Crohn's disease, mental health, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety. This is not something that is little, right? And of course, there's other microbes that are lost in these diseases, you know. But when you look at rheumatoid arthritis, I haven't published on it yet. But when you look at rheumatoid arthritis, same thing. You've lost the bifidobacteria, but you've lost other microbes. When you look at diabetes, what is diabetes? Diabetes is the inability to absorb sugar. These kids have zero bifidobacteria, which is the microbe that helps you break down the food to get the sugar out of the food into the cell. You lack the microbe. You lack the ability to absorb sugar, it's that simple. You lack the sugar in the cell. You lack function in your mitochondria. Your Krebs cycle is not working anymore. So therefore, you're going to be tired. You're going to be fatigued. So ME/CFS, chronic fatigue syndrome, ALS, loss of bifidobacteria. So all these diseases have one thing in common, you know. Within the disease, there's other microbes that pop up that are in common because it's again when you look at disease, it's not just a loss of bifidobacteria, and I want to make that very clear. It's loss of bifidobacteria and increased microbe. Okay, so when you look at colon cancer, loss of bifidobacteria and increased microbe that probably predisposed to the cancer starting to build up. Right. So I think it's important to know that you know with autism, for example, Dr. Finegold, who by the way guided me to, and he's probably watching me from heaven and saying, "Keep going, Sabine. You know, he's my like biggest cheerleader. Doctor Finegold came up with the whole vancomycin for autism because he noticed vancomycin was improving kids with autism. But here's the problem: vancomycin kills wipes the gut. So these kids are going to have a decrease in their those kids that have certain microbes that are sensitive to vancomycin are gonna feel better, less aggressive. But you're never gonna get that kid to speak until you restore the bifidobacteria. So Dr. Feingold was a big believer that the sulfur vibrio, Clostridium perfringens, were microbes that were linked with autism, I'm coming. We found and we published a paper, Lactobacillus animalis, in one kid. We found Bacteroides plebius in you know in triplets where we saw the neurotypical kid kids had no Bacteroides plebius, but the kid with autism had a lot of Bacteroides plebius, and actually the mom had a lot of Bacteroides plebius. So you could start putting two, connecting the dots, and saying mom was pregnant with triplets. Two of them did not get that Bacteroides plebius, and the third one got enormous amount of Bacteroides plebius, and is and now that those kids. All got vaccinated. The two that are neurotypical survived because they didn't have that microbe, and they also had some bifidobacteria in them. But the kid that had zero bifidobacteria and a lot of Bacteroides plebius, those vaccines didn't help that kid. Right? It kept going flatline.

So, and and that's something I want to make everybody aware of is that once you reach that flat line of validated assay that tells you you're in flat line bifidobacteria, it's very very difficult to get off the flat line and to resuscitate the gut, and there is a point where there is no return because you've done so much to the microbiome that you've like hit it. Oh well, this person told you to take an antifungal. Oh, let me give an antifungal which kills the gut. This person told you to give methylene blue. Let me give methylene blue which kills the bifidobacteria. This person told you to do X, Y, Z. So you're listening to everybody that's not really doing the research, that are influencers out there. And now all of a sudden, your kid comes to me with a nuclear bomb, devastated gut. Okay, like the gut was devastated, like a a nuclear bomb just attacked it. Okay, so what am I going to do with this kid? It's very difficult. It's like, it's. I'll give the analogy of taking person that you've demolished, you know, the femur, and yeah, you when the femur is broken in two, you can fix it and put it back together, right? This long bone, but when you keep smashing it into little pieces and crumbles, there is no way you're gonna put that femur back together, because it's just you need a new femur almost, right? And so, and is that femur compatible to the femur you had? Is it the same length as the femur you had? This is exactly what the microbiome is, right? You've nuked your gut. You're coming to me for fecal transplant. We can't find a donor that matches you. Those are the challenges. Forget the regulatory and having to deal with the FDA and putting things through IND, which is so costly. There's so many challenges at so many levels that it's very difficult.

Yeah, no, there's no question. There's a an incredible level of complexity here, but in terms of just going back to the kryptonite, let me give you a few other items in terms of how how big of a problem are they, and then I'll ask you the flip side. Okay, well, what are a few things obviously that people can do that will help promote bifidobacteria. So we covered already chemicals, pesticides, which you said were a 10 out of 10. Glyphosate might be a 20 out of 10. Methylene blue, surprisingly, is problematic from here, and many people feel like that's incredibly positive. So that's that's that raises an eyebrow.

And let me tell you why it's positive. You can live with a, and I want everybody listening to this podcast to understand that you can live with a sterile gut, and you will have less symptoms because you're wiping out every microbe. So, in other words, you're wiping out the bad and the good. But here's the problem: you stop doing what you're doing, right, to sterilize your gut. One day you forget that you you needed to take that methylene blue. One day you forget you needed to to do what you were doing that wiped out the gut clean. Then guess what's going to happen? You're exposed to a virus from a pepper plant that grows in your backyard, that virus comes in, wipe out. You get a fever, you're septic, and now you can't. You know you need antibiotics, right? And so you can live with a sterile gut, provided you stay in that sterile cocoon environment and keep taking those medications for the rest of your life. But again, understand the risk. You forget the the product is no longer available. The product was tempered with. You've made your kid adapted to this protocol, and you cannot get out of that protocol. Okay, now, or you can live with a diverse gut full of good microbes that does what it's supposed to do, which is fight off the green pepper mold virus that you were just exposed to, or the tomato rugae virus that you were just exposed to, or fight off COVID on its own. You know, the key is to develop that resilience, so that you don't depend. Listen, even my protocol, believe it or not, there's a time, there's a timeline. It stops at some point, right? So, but it stops when I see engraftment. Okay, you know what? I don't need to give those vitamins anymore. I'm engrafted. I don't need to take these vitamins anymore. I'm engrafted, right? I've got some. I'm surviving. I'm paying attention. I'm testing my stools. Right? There's a point where you just go, "Hey, I don't need anything. I'm surviving the environment. There are those people out there that, believe it or not, during COVID, they didn't do anything. They didn't take hydroxychloroquine. They didn't take ivermectin. They just didn't do anything. They were eating junk food. They didn't do anything. They never got COVID. What do we learn from those people? They're resilient. Those are the micro. Those are the microbiomes that I like. You know, the person that's like in a sterile environment, cleaning the environment, eating everything organic, eating everything. You know, that person is in a way at a deficiency because you cannot be in that controlled environment. There are times where you're going to fly to Japan for a meeting, and you don't have your food from your farm. So now, what happens when you're in the wild of Japan, and you although Japan is a poor example because they actually it's one of the best countries in my opinion when it comes cleanliness and and balance and vitamins in their water in their drinks and all that. So they're actually and and they're very ethical and the pharmaceutical companies are very righteous. If a product is good, it goes to market. If the product is not good, it doesn't go to market. So Japan is actually probably one of my favorites. But you know, I'll give an example of well, unfortunately, here we go, America. You know, so America is probably the worst, but the best at the same time. You've got the melting pot of the diverse people that live in New York and survive New York, and eat the peanuts on the on the streets, and are perfectly fine. And then you've got the people that are living in that sterile environment, organic, etc. So it's fascinating the whole thing.

It's kind of an extension of the hygiene hypothesis, right? In terms of like, if you're looking for a donor, you don't necessarily want someone who's super clean and and kind of in a in a more protective type of environment.

You want someone, so you also don't want to take diverse like Amazon jungle and put it into you know sterile American kid, right? Because now all of a sudden you're putting all these microbes that they've never seen, and there it's like whoa anaphylactic reaction, right? So I think you know. Ultimately, it's about balance. It's about the right donor. It's about understanding these microbes better. Understanding what feeds them. Understanding what kills them. You know, when you talk about, you know, what kills the gut, you know, there's so much of it is still research, right? I mean, you know, I I think there's a lot of research with the glyphosate, and I think we can see it. You know, I just had a patient actually the other day. Part he his profile looks like Parkinson's, and I looked at him, and he he came to me with constipation, but his profile looked like like Parkinson's, and in fact, Parkinson's patients have constipation 20 years prior. When I took the history deeper, he goes, "Yeah, my dad has Parkinson's. And then when I took even further history, come to find out, the guy was spraying. He lives in a farm, and he was spraying pesticides on his farm. So you could already see what's, and his father was a farmer that was using the same practices. So you could almost see what happened there. I mean, you know, it doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure this out, right? I mean, two and two together. So pesticides, yeah, definitely.

Just the final one I'm just curious about is electromagnetic fields.

Dr. Sabine Hazan 48:38

There's a lot of you know hypotheses out there on it. There's a lot of definitely a lot of people have done some incredible research on that, and a lot of people are talking a lot about it. I personally do not have experience with data on the microbiome. I only talk about what I've seen. Again, why is a person exposed to 5g getting depressed and not sleeping? And why is a person not exposed to 5g getting not sleeping as well? Right. I mean, it's kind of like the same thing with vaccines, right? You know, because there's a lot of controversy about vaccines. You know, why is a person that's been vaccinated not get autism, and why is a non-vaccinated getting autism? Right, and we have those kids because I know Steve Kirsch, you know, at some point posted on social media, "Show me a kid that's non-vaccinated that got autism. Well, they do exist because I have those parents, and we have to talk about that too, because that's the flaw in the whole vaccine. Now I will tell you personally what I believe happens, but again, you know, take it as research and hypothetical me telling you a hypothesis. I think we're probably. Probably happens is some kids are born with low bifidobacteria to begin with. You give them the vaccine, it drops their bif. You we've certainly seen it with messenger RNA. And by the way, when you talk about kryptonite, that's a 20 messenger RNA on the kids. Kids are born with 98% bifidobacteria. You can give them anything; they're going to be fine because it'll drop their bifidobacteria by a little bit. Eventually, they'll bounce back. Kids that are born, and that's the problem today, is a lot of these kids are born with 10 or 25% Those kids are not necessarily gonna be surviving vaccination. In other words, the vaccine may drop them to the flat line. That's what I think happens, especially with you know the MMR. In my opinion, because the MMR is a live attenuated virus, and essentially it is, you know, it's contraindicated. It was contraindicated, anyways. In my days during HIV, we wouldn't give them the MMR because it was they were immunosuppressed. If you take the attitude that immunosuppression is loss of bifidobacteria, for example, these kids should not be getting MMRs, right? Because the virus itself could be creating more damages. We certainly saw it with the messenger RNA vaccine. You know what happened with the messenger RNA vaccine? We noticed that the kids that were receiving it decreased their bifidobacteria, and we also noticed that when we tested physicians before and after taking the vaccine, or people that took the vaccine before and after the baseline, to after taking the bifidobacteria drop, and it persisted in dropping. So that messenger RNA spike protein was in essence a bifidophage. It killed the bifidobacteria. So to me, the messenger RNA vaccines is kryptonite for those kids because not only does it kill, but it continues in killing. And in a kid that is born with the natural immunity to fight these viruses because they have good, strong immunity, good, strong bifidobacteria, we're playing Russian roulette. And here's the elderly that that is shocking to me, and could be kryptonite. Okay, we came out with a whole industry of pushing probiotics. Okay, probiotics formula, probiotics drinks, probiotics everything. But we didn't come out with a proper test to say what's the bifidobacteria level in that kid. What about the kid? Here's what scares me. What about the kid that's taking a formula of probiotics, but has a lot of bifidobacteria in their gut already? Is that formula competing with their own bifidobacteria? You know, that's something people don't think about. So I think proper testing should have been first before pushing a whole world of probiotics. And I think you know that's the problem with humanity is and humans is they come out with a product and like oh right away it needs to be standard of care for everyone to take it, but we've not done the proper research to say, okay, well, is that the right thing to give these kids? I mean, because what are we looking at for guideline for for markers, you know, for endpoints to see that these kids are getting better?

Those are all important questions. I'm now rewinding with my own son, who's 19 now. You know his health did take a huge downturn after the MMR vaccine. That definitely was a piece of the puzzle. And I guess based on what you're sharing, you know I wish we would have been able to test his levels of bifidobacteria to to see if okay we have signs that he may be more sensitive, susceptible, whatever. So so therefore, exercise more caution. So, I know you're giving a lot of thought to that. So, in terms of parents who might want to see what the levels are for their child, what what can you share with them? What's available and what's coming?

What's coming is actually going to be a test that's going to still be under research for much cheaper, much faster. So, they're welcome to contact Brigitte Biom. They're always parents with autism. Kids with autism are always welcome to contact us at progenibiom.com, where we basically either put them on a waitlist, or if they have the means to support research, then we can help them, you know, do a protocol, design a protocol, work with the FDA if need be for fecal transplant, like the first kid that I worked with, you know, we're working right now with a with a mom that was a coordinator in Stanford, and basically she's going to help us bring the next treatment of autism other than feces, right? Because, like I said, the hard part of. Familial FMT, which was the protocol that I had for five and a half years. It took me five and a half years to get that protocol approved by the FDA. And by the way, 500 over $500,000 of funding towards the regulatory. People don't realize every time you go through the FDA, it's $400 an hour of regulatory personnel, lawyers are $1,500 an hour. It's extremely expensive to submit a protocol, to answer them, to go back and forth. It's a little bit faster now, but still, you know, two years ago was just a nightmare. And you know, I I had to involve Mel Gibson, and I told him to do a video for me on Save the Biff, which went viral on Instagram, and then I said at I posted on him on on on X. I said at FDA approve IND 19666, or I'm gonna have mail on a horse, you know, in front of your offices, and then it got approved. It's very hard to get these protocols moving, especially when you're not academic, academia. But I gotta tell you, it's also easier because I'm not academia. I don't have an academic center that's, you know, on top of me. You know, it's kind of like I've done clinical trials for pharma for three decades almost. I didn't have the regulatory of the academic center, so clinical trials were going a lot faster with pharma. We were able to recruit much faster. We have the way of the public. We don't need approval by 25 people. It's basically my approval. Move on. You know, the profit is I don't do so much clinical trials with pharma anymore, just because of the whole, you know, wake up call from COVID, the whole wake up call on the microbiome. I feel like, what are we doing? What am I doing here? I'm spending my life trying to cure Crohn's disease, and I brought one biologic after another after another. But I'm putting these kids at 18 year olds on a biologic for the rest of their lives. Who the hell wants to remember every day that they have Crohn's disease. You know, as a patient myself, as a doctor, as a patient, as a humanitarian, I want I want answers that cure the disease, so I'm done and I can enjoy life. You know, we've all become patients somehow. It's like you know continuous business for pharmaceutical companies. So, you know, I've kind of like been a bit off the cuff, you know, with the whole pharma. But I know how to run clinical trials. We are a CRO, a clinical research organization. We know how to, you know, do these protocols. We know how to submit to the FDA. But just all that is very expensive. We put them on a wait list till we get some funding because we need the kids close to us. You know, we need to be on top of them. The the testing, the products we use, everything. So,

all right, great. And I'll include all those notes, all those links in the show notes. I guess as a final question, you know, if you can let let's do the other side of the equation, right? So, could you just very high level, what are three moves a parent can do that is positive with respect to protecting or or increasing bifidobacteria, and if you could also talk about how the the term keystone species, I think, is important for parents to understand how that fits in with respect to this particular opportunity. So, so what would you say in terms of increasing or protecting?

Dr. Sabine Hazan 58:40

So, increasing is is kind of tough to say right now because first of all it's not published. I did tell you a couple things like vitamin C, but it doesn't sustain not ivermectin, but bovine immunoglobulins, but it doesn't sustain. But at least it does get rid of the proteobacteria, which in some kids, can be a problem causing autism and their anger, etc. I think you know good diet, good diet practices, natural stuff, good good food, avoiding you know all the junk out there because their kids has demolished gut. I think initially I would say you know probably cutting down on gluten, cutting down on sugar, cutting down on dairy, because a lot of these kids are lacking the microbes that break down the food to bring sugar into the cells, to bring calcium into the cells, to break down the gluten. So I would say those are the the practical, Non-controversial, common sense kind of thing. Other thing is keep a diary. Keep a diary of what your kid is eating, when he's getting angry, when he's getting upset. You know, I'll tell you there are certain foods that increase certain microbes. So, if your kid has this without doing a stool test, right? If your kid has a certain bacteria that is that likes, for example, green bananas, and that bacteria doesn't, you know, likes green bananas and kind of like increases with the green bananas, that may be the reason your kid is aggressive because that bacteria is secreting a toxin and it feeds on green bananas. I'm just giving this as an example. Don't go eliminating green bananas, but you know the key. The key to my research is really this, and here's the complexity. One microbe can be beneficial to one kid and disaster for another kid. How do we find this out by testing the family and by testing the family at the level of testing that we do, which unfortunately is not cheap, but it is something that I, you know, if parents want to know what I believe, if I believe their kid has something that's microbiome, probably contact us so we can test. Because here's the thing, autism. Here's the complexity of autism, and I'm going to be very upfront. It's not all gut microbiome, and sometimes, sometimes it's brain, sometimes it's brain to gut. Sometimes it's genetics, and sometimes it's gut with brain, gut with connection between the brain and the gut, gut with genetics. Right, and sometimes it's just not gut at all. Right, I had a family, and the father was an attorney came to me, and he tested his whole family, and he wasn't happy by the fact that I told him, "No, I don't see a microbiome problem in your kid. Why? Because the kid looked exactly like the neurotypical kids on the microbiome level. I'm not gonna make up stuff, you know, either I believe in in in my in the science that I'm seeing and the path that I'm going in, or the direction that I'm going in, or I don't. Now, would I remove this kid from my protocol of familial FMT once we raise money to do that protocol? Probably not, because of the fact that hey it would say whether I was right or wrong, but would I ask this father to like you know donate and and be part of my research and do this no because I feel like I'm not going to be helping this kid and so you know I want to put my time and energy and people's money on success. What I believe I can help the kid, and that's not necessarily that's not necessarily convenient for some families, but it is what it

is. And what about this term keystone species? Would just talk about that.

Well, keystone species. So, like I said, you know, if you look at the data from Dr. Feingold, you know, Clostridium profungans, the sulfur bacteria. If you look at my one paper, it was Lactobacillus animalis. If you look at the two twins, they were keystone phylum that we we showed. You know, the proteobacteria, the verruca microbiota, and the Elysso microbiota phylum. We didn't really, I don't think, spoke too much about the species in those two twins. We want to see more. We want to see more data, and I think with more data comes confidence to say yes. This, you know, listen, I spent since COVID, the beginning of COVID, you know, six years now, focusing on the microbiome and COVID, and discovering bifidobacteria and the importance of bifidobacteria. But it took like 4000 samples that I've analyzed to say, "Oh, look at that! Alzheimer's loss of bifidobacteria. Look at that, Alzheimer's and autism share the same microbes. Is Alzheimer's the autism of the old? Is autism the Alzheimer's of the young? They share similar traits, right? Now they're sharing similar microbes, right? So until we get more data, and and you know we're close on autism, but we need like about 1000 samples to come up with these microbes, and then once we come up with these microbes, we'll call my friendly neighborhood FDA and say, "Hey, we have a marker for autism that we can now test these kids, you know, at birth to predict who's going to have autism. Because wouldn't it be amazing if you could test early on, predict, prevent, but we have a lot of work to do before that, and there needs to be a lot of money spent to do that. So it's it's hard. I think I'm the perfect hurricane to do this because I'm like 25, you know, always 100 miles ahead of everyone, and I. And I'm not stopping because ultimately, look, I what I see in my future after I've left this planet is my great great and my fear is that my great grandkids are going to be autistic and I'm not in this planet to fix them. So it behooves me to do it now and to change that path so that it doesn't happen. I think ultimately we're here on a mission. I had a just you know kind of fun fun fact. I had a near death experience, and and it was I was negotiating with God in my near death experience, basically to keep me to bring me back because I'm not finished my work. So I have a lot of work to do, and you know this is my legacy. This is my path. I'm not selling out. You know, we were offered 185 million for Progenobiome. I didn't take it because I knew they were just going to put the company on a shelf. This is a must. This is an emergency for the world. It is an emergency for humanity. It is an emergency for all races and religions to come together, all political parties to come together, because your children, your grandkids are gonna have autism, and your and it is no turning back. There is no turning back, and once bifidobacteria disappears from the planet, there's no turning back. Humanity is gone, in my opinion. Why do I say that? Because if you look at bifidobacteria, it decomposes plastic. You know how there's a whole big motion of microplastics. Well, guess what? You lose bifidobacteria, you can't decompose plastics. It's that simple. Is is our climate issue? Is everything linked to loss of bifidobacteria? Maybe. Who are we to? We're mere specks in a universe of other planets all around us, and we think we know it all. Come on, we gotta be humble to realize that there is divine intervention. There is a divine presence that is guiding everything. And frankly, I'm the product of that divine, you know, intervention that basically makes me wake up every morning and go to sleep late with this mission to save these kids, save the Biff. You know, so we have to push further, and we have to be better as humanity. And money is not going to save you or any one of us, you know. Billionaires get sick. Look at that billionaire who has like autoimmune gastritis and nuked his gut most likely from all the stuff he's done.

So you know, at some point, like I said, there's no turning back. And you know, it's great that he's got all the money in the world and he's doing all the research and a billion markers. But at the end of the day, he's sick, and who is he going to go to? Because I can assure you, this is not a simple case to fix once you've nuked your gut, and it takes time, and it's the right products, and it's the right research, and it's the right microbiome analysis. And you know, if you're doing a million markers and those million markers are all flawed, well, you're not. You're seeing sh dot t. No offense.
